Sharing Leh experience...

Hi,
Lot of people have curiosity and lot of queries about Ladakh especially when someone wants to visit for the first time. I hereby mention our experience which might help few people, this is only the logistics experience which I am mentioning here as of now as the experience that I had over there with friends is something which cannot be described in words but can only be termed as “Truly Amazing”.
We had 4 days break, lot of blogs that we referred all mentioned that you need minimum 2 days to adjust to the environment and the climate, but the hot blood can never be stopped and that’s what happened.
Oct 2 – Boarded the flight at 6:00 am from New Delhi (Kingfisher)
Reached Leh at 8am.
We didn’t book any hotel or guest house but the young passion was ready to take whatever may come its way. We took a cab from Airport and asked it to take us to the places where we can get accommodation. He took us to one of the main roads where there were 4-5 hotels side by side. We had a look at each and every hotel, bargained and got a good deal for 1200 per room shared by 2 people in “Namgyal Palace”. Rooms were good with hot water, heater and food/ drinks available in the hotel itself. We were 6, so took 3 rooms. When we got down, definitely temperature was low and it was pretty cold, we had jacket, pullovers and monkey caps, so you definitely need to take proper precautions in terms of warm clothes. Took rest for some 2-3 hours and then went and started taking information from various travel agents which are in plenty as Tourism is the major source of income over there. Got a good understanding with one guy and rest 3 days were with him only.
According to me, must see places are –
River Confluence – Great sight to witness.
Magnetic Hill – For the significance and on the way to river confluence
Pangong Lake – If you missed this, you have missed the beauty of Ladakh (Must Must See)
Khardungla Pass – Highest Motorable Road in the world, great place
Stok Glacier (Trekking) – For those who are interested, this is one amazing experience and definitely you need 2 extra layers to avoid the temperature which dips to 0 or –ve in night and you to stay in camps
Then there are couple of monasteries which we couldn’t visit because of time as we had only 4 days, but one set of friends got time and they visited and according to them, they were really nice.
Don’t worry about food, lot of joints and good food. Carry Water and Red Bulls wherever you go
Overall Amazing place, experience of a lifetime. Still reach imaginations when I recollect those 4 days. Thanks Buddies!!
