Sharing Leh experience...

Hi,
Lot of people have curiosity and lot of queries about Ladakh especially when someone wants to visit for the first time. I hereby mention our experience which might help few people, this is only the logistics experience which I am mentioning here as of now as the experience that I had over there with friends is something which cannot be described in words but can only be termed as “Truly Amazing”.
We had 4 days break, lot of blogs that we referred all mentioned that you need minimum 2 days to adjust to the environment and the climate, but the hot blood can never be stopped and that’s what happened.
Oct 2 – Boarded the flight at 6:00 am from New Delhi (Kingfisher)
Reached Leh at 8am.
We didn’t book any hotel or guest house but the young passion was ready to take whatever may come its way. We took a cab from Airport and asked it to take us to the places where we can get accommodation. He took us to one of the main roads where there were 4-5 hotels side by side. We had a look at each and every hotel, bargained and got a good deal for 1200 per room shared by 2 people in “Namgyal Palace”. Rooms were good with hot water, heater and food/ drinks available in the hotel itself. We were 6, so took 3 rooms. When we got down, definitely temperature was low and it was pretty cold, we had jacket, pullovers and monkey caps, so you definitely need to take proper precautions in terms of warm clothes. Took rest for some 2-3 hours and then went and started taking information from various travel agents which are in plenty as Tourism is the major source of income over there. Got a good understanding with one guy and rest 3 days were with him only.
According to me, must see places are –
River Confluence – Great sight to witness.
Magnetic Hill – For the significance and on the way to river confluence
Pangong Lake – If you missed this, you have missed the beauty of Ladakh (Must Must See)
Khardungla Pass – Highest Motorable Road in the world, great place
Stok Glacier (Trekking) – For those who are interested, this is one amazing experience and definitely you need 2 extra layers to avoid the temperature which dips to 0 or –ve in night and you to stay in camps
Then there are couple of monasteries which we couldn’t visit because of time as we had only 4 days, but one set of friends got time and they visited and according to them, they were really nice.
Don’t worry about food, lot of joints and good food. Carry Water and Red Bulls wherever you go
Overall Amazing place, experience of a lifetime. Still reach imaginations when I recollect those 4 days. Thanks Buddies!!

Yet Another Legendary Night!!

It was yet another legendary night and as always there has to be a reason behind it as well. It was the last night of our dear friend Vinit Parekh. In order to make it a rocking night he took 4am flight on Friday i.e. on 13th Feb. Like Ted's grandmom used to say "Nothing good happens after 2am..." and also it was "Friday, the 13th"...

Everything was going fine... Subir, our legally married friend in Noida came to our DLF house(Gurgaon) at 10:30 PM and as always searching for something or the other.... Vinit for a change came on time i.e. 11PM and AK had got the lavish South Indian Cuisine for all of us... we all had food till 12 followed by one round of experience sharing where as usual we covered the entire class of 63 and the gossips ranging from all over the place... At 1, we started for Noida and here comes the first SMS "Flight is delayed and will now depart at 4:55 am"... dropped Subir at Noida where we stood outside Pranav's apartment like some hooligans and everyone including the cops were scared of us after all it was UP... Subir was also slowly catching up with the mood after staying for quite long with "Okaay", guess you all know who??... We started from there around 2, reached Maurya Sheraton at 3am and had the lovely desserts when suddenly we realized that its International Terminal so we better hurry up... started from the Hotel at 3:30 and reached the Airport area around 4, the dense fog took even the CAT 3 compliant car to the Parking Lot instead of Departure Terminal and what we all wanted to avoid that happened once again "Last Minute Rush"... realizing that the Departure terminal is quite far, we took out the luggage and while AK was trying to find the parking slot for his fighter plane... we started walking towards the terminal.. on our way we still got time to discuss how Rohan managed to catch his flight on the last day and also realized that its Punjaab all across the globe... Finally Vinit was off and we started walking towards our Car...
But the night was not yet over or rather the morning as it was already 5. As AK mentioned "Gods were conspiring against his travel to retain this Mumbai lad in Delhi"...Vinit's flight got cancelled, we picked him up once again... dropped him at the Domestic Terminal, leaving him in the safe hands of Miss Padukone and finally we were back on our much familiar NH8 before finally hitting the bed at 6:30 am to catch up with a meeting at 10:30 am in Office.... Yet Another Legendary Night to our credit with a hope that there are more to follow...
